#120 Importance of School

Many students dread having to go to school. Yet, what would our lives be like if our parents did not make us go to school ? I think we would all be living without a purpose or an ambition. Personally, I believe that many would decide to get jobs and earn their liveng as soon as possible. I also believe that they would come to regret that decision later on in life.

The primary purpose of going to school is to get an education. There are of course many other reasons why it is important for us to go to school. School makes us disciplined. We learn about punctuality and the important of keeping to schedules. It also trains us to value time and manage it wisely. It trains us to set goals and take the steps towards realising these goals.

School is also a place for social interaction. We mix with people of different age groups and diverse backgrounds. When we mingle with people from all walks of life, we learn about human behaviour, social etiquette and conduct as well as moral values such as courtesy, consideration and respect for others.

It is at school that we learn about competition. Through sports and examinations we test our limits and abilities. We learn about our strengths and weaknesses and our areas of interest. Through sporting events we also learn about teamwork and cooperation

School, therefore is the stage in life where the faundation of our character is built. It is here that a student is nurtured into becoming a well-rounded individual who will be a useful member of society.
